Matthew Swenson

Matthew Swenson currently serves as the Division Chief at the Homeland Security Investigations Cyber
Crime Center in Fairfax, VA. At C3, he oversees four units: Cyber Crimes, Child Exploitation
Investigations, Computer Forensics and Cyber Training and Engagement. Prior to serving as Division
Chief, Mr. Swenson served as the Unit Chief over the Cyber Crimes Unit and directly managed the
Network Intrusion, Digital Crimes, and Technical Solutions sections. Previously, Mr. Swenson served as a
Section Chief running the Network Intrusion Section at C3. Prior to his time at C3, Mr. Swenson was
assigned to the Los Angeles, California, field office. Mr. Swenson has nearly 20 years of federal law
enforcement experience focusing on digital forensics, cybercrime, and incident response.
Before his assignment in the Los Angeles field office, Mr. Swenson served as a Section Chief for the
Department of Homeland Security Cyber Crimes Center’s Computer Forensics Unit. He also served as the
Resident Agent in Charge at the NASA OIG Cyber Crimes Division, overseeing a team working cybercrime
investigations at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. Mr. Swenson currently holds a
Master of Science Degree in Information Security Engineering from the SANS Technology Institute.
